Thomas Litscher puts an early end to his season

Due to continuing saddle soreness issues, Swiss rider Thomas Litscher of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM is forced to put an early end to his season. The under23 world champion of 2011 is scheduled for surgery on August 20th.

Hermida second on his favourite course

The MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM was only competing with three of its athletes in Mont Sainte-Anne, Canada. While both Thomas Litscher and Ondrej Cink were struggling, José Hermida showed all of his class and made it to the podium in second.

A win and a second place in Switzerland

One week before the crosscountry worldcup race in Mont Sainte-Anne, Canada, three riders of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM were competing at the BMC Racing Cup in Davos. Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå won the women's race, while José Hermida finished in 2nd in the men's race and Thomas Litscher was forced to abandon.

Missing out on a sensation by six seconds

At the fourth round of the crosscountry worldcup, Ondrej Cink missed out on his first win in the elite category by a scant six seconds. But the 2nd place is still his best career result to date by far. On top of that, the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM was 3rd in the team classicification, and Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå finished the women's race in 4th.

Three out of five riders in championship jerseys

While mountainbiking's crosscountry worldcup has taken a summer break, the national championships were being held. And the riders of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM were remarkably successful: Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå, José Hermida and Ondrej Cink all won their national championships, while Rudi van Houts was beaten by a small margin.

Ninth world championship title for Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå

Even at 40 years old Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå is not the least bit tired. In Kirchberg, Austria the Norwegian of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM won the ninth world championship title of her career and the fifth world marathon title.

Two top10 finishes at European championships

At mountainbiking's European championship in Bern, Switzerland, José Hermida finished in fifth and Ondrej Cink in Seventh, putting tow riders of MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM in the top10. Hermida missed out on the bronze medal by only 15 seconds. Thomas Litscher on the other hand could not match his own expectations in the eliminator race.

On the podium and winning the team classification

At the third round of the crosscountry worldcup in Val di Sole, Italy, high temperatures and a really tough course were putting the athletes to a test. In the women's race Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå made it to the podium by finishing in fifth, and in the men's race the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM won the team classification thank to three top10 finishes.

Another podium finish for Litscher in Gränichen

Almost all of the world's strongest mountain bike riders were competing at the fourth round of the BMC Racing Cup in Gränichen, Switzerland. José Hermida, Rudi van Houts and Thomas Litscher of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM were lining up at the start as well, and all three made it into the top10 with Litscher finishing on the podium in third.
