The MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM had to deal with two setbacks right at the beginning of its trip to Northern America: Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå got ill on the flight and decided to return to Europe right away. Ondrej Cink also has to skip the race in Mont Sainte Anne due to an illness.

Most Euopean countries held their national mountain bike championships over the last two weekends. And the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM got to celebrate a couple of successes - most notably the eighth national champion title for José Hermida in Spain.

Two victories at Kitzalp bike festival

The C1 rated cross country race is one of the highlights at the Kitzalp bike festival in Kirchberg/Tyrol. And the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM delivered a fine display of its class: Both Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå and Ondrej Cink won the elite races, and Rudi van Houts doubled up by finishing in 2nd.

At the European crosscountry championships in St.Wendel the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM did not succeed in winning any medals. In simmering hot weather both Julian Schelb and José Hermida finished withing the top10.

Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå a safe bet in Albstadt

At the fourth round of the crosscountry Worldcup in the Southern German town of Albstadt Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå as the team's doyenne saved the day for the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM as she finished in 2nd in the women's race. The men failed to score a top10 finish, and Julian Schelb could do no better than a 20th place in the under23 race.

At the third Worldcup race of the season in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå finished on the podium for the second time. José Hermida and Thomas Litscher finished in the top10 as well.
