Final rehearsal for the Worlds in Windham

Three weeks before the World championships the athletes of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM had a last opportunity to check their form in Windham, United States. Finishing in 7th, Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå missed out on a podium spot by half a minute. In the men’s race Ondrej Cink finished in 10th after a strong start.

Dahle Flesjå 5th in Mont Sainte-Anne

At the fourth race of the cross country worldcup held in Mont Sainte-Anne, Canada Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå from the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM finished on the podium in 5th. Ondrej Cink confirmed his rising form, took the early lead and finished the men’s race on a top10 position in 9th.

Van Houts meets criteria for Olympics

At the European cross country championships in Lamosano di Chies d’Alpago, Italy the athletes of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM missed out on the medals. At least by finishing in 10th Rudi van Houts managed to meet his national federation’s nomination criteria for the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.

Two national championship titles for the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM

Various countries across Europe crowned their new national champions in mountain biking’s Olympic cross country format. In Norway and the Czech Republic respectively, Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå and Ondrej Cink managed to win their championship races. José Hermida won the Silver medal in Spain and Rudi van Houts the Bronze medal in the Netherlands.

Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå makes mountain biking history

For two seasons Gunn-RIta Dahle Flesjå had been chasing the elusive 29th win in the cross country worldcup. At the third race of the season in Switzerland, MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM’s Norwegian showed a superior performance, making history with another win. On another note the team’s men returned to the top ranks of the sport with Ondrej Cink finishing on the podium in third and the team winning the men’s team classification.

10th World championship title for Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå

She might be 42 years old, but Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå is not the least bit tired. The Norwegian won her 10th mountain bike World championship title and the sixth in the marathon format. By doing so the rider of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM further expands what is already a very impressive palmares.

Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå on the podium again

Just like at the Worldcup opener in Nove Mesto, Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå scored the best result from the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM’s perspective at the second race of the season in Albstadt. The Norwegian sprinted to a 2nd place. In the men’s race Rudi van Houts narrowly missed out on his federation’s selection criteria for the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.

Successful Worldcup opener in Nove Mesto

At the first round of mountain biking’s cross country Worldcup, the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM got to celebrate a podium finish thanks to Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå finishing in 2nd. After some lengthy health issues this spring both Thomas Litscher and José Hermida returned to the elite ranks of the sport as well. And one of them was competing on an all-new MERIDA bike.

Ondrej Cink wins Prague Stairs Race

At the C1-class „Prague Stairs Race“ two riders of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM finished on the podium against strong competition: Ondrej Cink was celebrated as the winner in Prague while Thomas Litscher finished in third, returning to World elite after lengthy health issues.

No medal for Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå at European marathon champs

The Southern German town of Singen hosted mountainbiking’s European marathon championships this weekend. Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå was riding in the first positions of the women’s race for quite a while. But in the end the Norwegian of the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM missed out on a medal by two seconds.
