Dahle Flesjå dominates from start to finish in Titisee-Neustadt

At the finals of the German MTB-Bundesliga series in Titisee Neustadt, Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå from the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM was unfazed by the adverse weather conditions. The Norwegian rode to an undisputed victory to cap off her season - yet another win. At the Swiss Epic stage race José Hermida and Thomas Litscher defended their 5th place in the overall standings throughout the last two days.

While many cross country series have come to an end by now, the finals of the German MTB-Bundesliga were held in the Southwestern German winter sports resort of Titisee-Neustadt. Rain had made for a treacherous course before the race, and the rain also fell during the women’s race. Right from the start Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå from the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM took charge of things, setting the pace. A small gap early on in the first lap grew to almost two minutes to her closest competitor, Dutchwoman Anne Tauber. „When the weather is like today you need to keep cool and not stress yourself out. You have to make good use of the first lap to adapt to the course conditions and the circumstances. Of course it’s super to get another win to cap off the season“, Dahle Flesjå explained after a race that she had dominated from start to finish.

Before the conclusive two days of the Swiss Epic stage race held in Southwestern Switzerland the MULTIVAN MERIDA BIKING TEAM duo of José Hermida and Thomas Litscher was placed in a good 5th place in the overall standings. But with two hard stages around Verbier to ride, their position was far from secured - all the more so as the weather report was bad for the last two days. This turned the fourth stage over a distance of 62 kilometers into a real battle of attrition. At first José Hermida was feeling better and set the pace, but as the stage wore on Thomas Litscher was getting stronger, taking his team mate in tow. At the end of the day they scored a 4th place in the day’s standings. As for the final stage, the two managed to control things: A 6th place in the day’s standing secured their 5th place in the overall standings of the Swiss Epic.
